The Role:Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students at a welcoming secondary school in Buxton. This role is ideal for someone who has previously worked in a school setting, understands the demands and rewards of assisting young people with SEND, and is looking for an immediate start.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEND, both in and out of the classroom
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure each student's specific needs are met
  • Support students with their learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing
  • Assist in adapting resources and planning activities tailored to each student's abilities and challenges

Requirements:This role requires applicants who have:

  • A proven track record of working within a school or educational environment (essential)
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, particularly within a secondary school setting
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability to respond to a range of student needs
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
