gap technical are proud to be representing a Market Leading manufacturing business in their search for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work at their facilities based near Buxton
Performance Objectives

  • Work in a safe manner, ensuring the Health & Safety of yourself and others
  • Comply with and be actively involved in SHE and Quality Policies and Procedures
  • Carry out safety and maintenance checks and record accordingly.
  • Advise on the extent of repairs, replacement, and maintenance issues.
  • Fault finding on highly automated plant including PLC's VSD's and process instrumentation
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Advise on foreseeable maintenance requirements and essential spares requirements.
  • Keep accurate maintenance repair records.
  • Plan, carry out and keep records of electrical testing and maintenance.
  • Contribute electrical aspects where required of any RCA reports where significant downtime has occurred.
  • Active involvement in the commissioning of any new plant or equipment.
  • Provide assistance and support in non-electrical areas as directed by the business to support the compliance with shift targets and delivery of schedule adherence.
  • Complete work order reports to record activities completed and any problems encountered with plant or equipment.

Person Specification

  • Time served Apprenticeship / ONC Engineering - Electrical
  • HNC Electrical Engineering. (Advantageous)
  • PLC and Variable speed drives experience - (desirable)
  • BS 7671 -18th Edition wiring regulations - (desirable)
  • C&G 2391 inspection and testing - (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office systems eg word, excel etc.
  • Competent to carry out work at heights using a range of methods; e.g. steps, ladders, tower scaffolds and MEWPS.
  • Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Knowledge and experience in the use of risk assessment.
