SEN Teaching Assistant | Buxton SK17 | 100 - 110 | Long-Term to Permanent | ASAP Start

Long Term Futures is looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Buxton. This role offers the opportunity to support children with special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting students with a range of needs, including verbal and non-verbal autism, within a setting that prioritises holistic support and development.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to students, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist children in understanding and following teacher instructions.
  • Work with individual learners or small groups in the learning support department.
  • Track and record pupil progress to ensure development and well-being.


Key Experience:

  • Previous experience in a teaching assistant or teaching role.
  • Experience working with SEN children, particularly those with ADD, ADHD, and Autism.
  • Strong communication and social skills to effectively support students.
  • A flexible and enthusiastic approach to working with children.


To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:

  • Have the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate, registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS.
  • Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
