Are you an experienced and dynamic Quality Manager looking for your next challenge?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Manager to join our team at a leading cement manufacturing plant. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the highest standards of quality, product consistency, and process efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, oversight, and continuous improvement of the Quality function, working closely with the Plant Management Team to drive operational excellence and meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring all quality-related activities align with safety and environmental standards.
  • Oversee and continuously improve quality assurance and control processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product quality and implement effective strategies to address deviations.
  • Manage and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring certification of products, operational testing, monitoring, and compliance.
  • Ensure rigorous sampling, measuring, and analysis procedures are in place, meeting industry and company standards.
  • Investigate product quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with technical sales teams and other key stakeholders to address customer concerns and quality claims.
  • Manage and lead chemistry, quality, and environmental projects, driving continuous improvements and standardization across the plant.
  • Ensure that all laboratory personnel are fully trained and competent in quality management procedures and ISO quality systems.
  • Provide strong leadership and development opportunities for the Quality team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in a technical, optimization, or quality management role, ideally within the cement, concrete, or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of cement manufacturing processes, including raw mix design, clinker production, and finished product grinding.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, physico-chemical characteristics of raw materials, and quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 certification, BS EN197, Tech-Base, and LQTS.
  • A track record of managing change and implementing new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate structured reports.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and influencing skills to develop and inspire a high-performing team.
  • A degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field is required. Additional qualifications in leadership or IOSH certification would be an advantage.
