A manufacturer who are going from strength to strength annually with plans to investing new machinery are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician on a shift basis.

This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery, rectifying mechanical faults, and performing regular maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Conduct daily inspections of production machinery, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, hygiene, and housekeeping standards.
  • Rectify mechanical faults, respond to breakdowns, and perform regular maintenance in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Work within a team of Engineers to maintain equipment, aiming to minimise machine downtime.
  • Monitor records of all faults, fabricate parts, and maintain safety devices.
  • Support the installation of new machinery and collaborate with external contractors.
  • Test and inspect machines and equipment, working to eliminate production problems.
  • Carry out routine maintenance checks and report any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Customer Services, and Warehousing teams to ensure targeted output.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects by providing technical input and expertise.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and assist with the upkeep of the engineering workshop.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Good standard of education, with minimum GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • IT literate with basic knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Experienced Engineer, preferably with a background in high-speed production.
  • Experience in print or packaging manufacturing is desirable.
  • Considerable exposure to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards and practices within a production setting.
