We have a permanent Mechanical Fitter role available within Catnic. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical engineering skills and is proactive, safety-conscious, and adaptable.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and repair processing machinery and ancillary equipment safely and productively to maximise availability at optimum cost.
Carry out preventative maintenance activities to minimise unplanned downtime.
Identify and recommend improvements to production control procedures to support performance objectives.
Ensure compliance with Tata Steel UK health & safety, quality, environmental, and corporate policies.
Engage in personal development plans to enhance performance and support business succession planning.
Collaborate with management, other departments, and third parties to meet team objectives and overcome challenges.

Essential Requirements:

Time-served Mechanical Fitter with relevant experience.
ONC/HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to safety.
Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
Good literacy and numeracy skills.
Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

Desirable Requirements:

Welding and fabricating skills.
Flexible and adaptable to changing demands.
