About The Role
Commercial Contracts Solicitor
Caerphilly Head Office (CF83 1XH)
Full Time, permanent position

We are seeking a commercial counsel to join our small, collaborative team based in our group headquarters in Caerphilly. TheCommercial Contracts Solicitor will provide broad and varied commercial support across the business whilst maintaining a high level of autonomy and managing stakeholder relationships. Experience in B2B commercial contracts essential, and experience with procurement contracts, IT contracts and tenders would also be ideal. This is a hybrid role with a view to working from the Caerphilly office at least three days per week going forward, although attendance at site will be full time while settling into the role.

Other aspects of the role will include:
  • Advise on a broad range of legal matters including contracts, regulatory and compliance
  • Provide sound legal advice and support to business divisions relating to corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters
  • Liaise with external counsel where required
  • Draft a wide range of legal documents and support materials including standard contact templates for use by the business divisions
  • Negotiations on a broad range of commercial contracts with counter parties and their lawyers
  • Provide training to business departments such as commercial and legal considerations and regulatory changes where required
  • Support legal department in a wide range of initiatives, and improvements

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales with 2-5 years PQE in the field of commercial law and commercial contracts
  • Previous experience working in a commercial role and negotiating contracts
  • Previous in-house experience preferable
  • Excellent drafting and negotiating skills
  • Strong knowledge of commercial law, and compliance
  • Ability to work autonomously
