A global manufacturing business based in Caerphilly are looking to take on a Production Manager. This is a position which will be well suited to a senior management professional who has experience working in the manufacturing sector working on a variety of different projects and manufacturing processes. This is a rare opportunity to join a global business who work on many exciting projects, and always prioritise the growth and development of the staff. This role would be well suited to a candidate coming from a highly pressurised environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for weekly forecast plans for manning and to adjust these to the needs of the plant
  • Responsible for all production areas and aspects including shop floor layout, health and safety, PPE, quality and the development of the team
  • Work alongside Managers to ensure that all training matrix records are kept up to date, stored confidentially and used during succession planning and identifying training needs
  • Responsible for 6s related activities within production areas, including when ensuring areas are according to specified layout and free of unnecessary obstructions
  • Establish and maintain effective production flow and identify improvements as and when required
  • Ensure all parts are produced in accordance with quality requirements and actively identify and set up alternative production processes if quality is not achieved
  • Ensure that all health, safety and environmental standards and procedures are fully maintained throughout the plant and that these are seen as a priority

Requirements

  • Experience in the automotive sector is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a high level management role overlooking production.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement, Health and safety, People development
