The position of Multi-Skilled Engineer is available in Caerphilly with a salary of £39,167 per annum plus a 16% shift premium.
This is a full-time role requiring experience in electrical fault finding, automation, and mechanical maintenance.
The job involves conducting planned preventative maintenance, providing mechanical and electrical breakdown cover, and supporting continuous improvement activities.
Candidates should ideally have NVQ Level 4 or HNC qualifications and possess good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and lean manufacturing principles.
The role operates on a rotating shift schedule, with hours from 6am to 10pm, and may transition to three shifts as project work increases.

Hours: Full time. Monday to Friday Hours - 2 rotating shifts (days: 6am - 2pm, afternoons: 2pm - 10pm) - when project work starts to come in will move over to 3 rotating shifts (increase in shift premium)Here at The Recruitment Co, we are recruiting a Multi-Skilled Engineer to work for a company based in Caerphilly. This is a permanent position.Main job roles

To conduct planned preventative maintenance including the scheduling of this activity
To provide mechanical breakdown for all activities carried out on the site
To provide electrical breakdown cover for all activities carried out on the site
To carry out building and site maintenance for the site
To provide input into the specification of new manufacturing equipment to ensure that it is of robust design and will not pose any problems with regard to servicing and maintenance
To carry out installation of production equipment including electrical and pneumatic services as required
To support, and anticipate in, continuous improvement activities as required within all areas of the business
Provide guidance on installation and service (power, air etc) requirements for all production and non-production equipment as necessary
Provide support and supervision, as necessary, for contractors working on Hydro premises

Required Experience

Experience of Electrical Fault Finding
Experience of Automation and Robot Cells
Experience of Chemical process line
Experience of CNC machining
Mechanical maintenance experience
Ideally NVQ Level 4 HNC Background
Electrical qualifications (18th Edition BS7671)
Good English skills both orally and written
Good level of MS office and IT competence
Good knowledge of hydraulics and Hydraulic systems
Good knowledge of pneumatics (Pumps,valves, Fluid flow Control)
Good Knowledge Mechanical(Pipe Fitting Gear boxes, Shafts, Bearings,Pumps, Fans etc)
Good knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
