This is an excellent opportunity to join an established business with growth plans in place. My client are looking to take on a Production Shift Manager due to an upcoming retirement. The role would be well suited to a Shift Manager with experience on managing teams of production operators, continuous improvement initiatives and a strong health and safety focus. Working across a broad range of manufacturing sectors, this is a great chance to join a secure business who are breaking into new markets.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all production activities on the assigned shift.
  • Ensure compliance with production schedules and quality standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production workers.
  • Manage shift staffing levels, including planning for absences and overtime.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Identify and resolve any quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive initiatives to improve performance.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • The successful candidate will come from a production shift management background.
  • Experience within FMCG or the plastics industry would be beneficial.
  • Experience managing teams of production staff.
  • Health and safety focussed.
  • Previous experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
