Involve Recruitment are in search of a Quantity Surveyor with Groundworks experience. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial resources are used efficiently and effectively throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to provide accurate cost estimates and financial advice.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to maintain budget compliance.
  • Conduct regular financial assessments and provide reports on project costs to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project specifications and budgets.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices for materials and services.
  • Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of bids from contractors.
  • Manage variations in contracts, ensuring that all changes are documented and accounted for.
  • Provide advice on procurement strategies to optimise project delivery while controlling costs.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, particularly in cost control.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools for cost estimation and project management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations relevant to the industry.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred, along with relevant professional qualifications or memberships.
