They are looking for an experience EHS Manager for a new role within the business and a chance to really shape the EHS strategy for the business.

The Role:

  • Providing management, oversight, and direction of the Environmental, Health, and Safety and sustainability programs.
  • Ensures environmental, health, and safety compliance with local regulatory EHS requirements, Symbiosis policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Supports corporate EHS strategy and objectives, contributes to development and implementation of EHS programs. Promotes a culture of EHS excellence and provides high-quality EHS technical guidance.
  • Develop environmental, health and safety policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation of the business and to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and ensures compliance with ISO14001 accreditation.
  • Monitor performance of Environmental Health and Safety programs, sustainability initiatives and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as local expert in safety, health, environmental regulatory issues and manages compliance activities on these matters.
  • Develop permitting and compliance strategies and negotiates for facility with regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and evaluates EHS resource requirements and annual budget.
  • Ensure compliance in areas of environmental, safety and health through risk assessments, self-audits and investigations and assist in the development of controls to reduce or eliminate hazards found within the workplace.
  • Responsible to keep current with all new and pending EHS regulations that might have an impact upon the business.
  • Provide information and guidance to facility management on safety and environmental controls as they affect current and proposed processes, equipment and procedures including the review of all new projects.
  • Maintain all records and reports as defined by regulatory agencies and corporate guidelines.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure all EHS requirements are considered when introducing new policies, processes, or equipment.

Requirements

  • Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety and/or Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety or related scientific discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK health and safety legislation as well as experience of providing expert advice to managers on health and safety within a similar environment.
  • Prior experience working in a GxP/regulated environment would be beneficial.
  • Experience of introducing EHS and sustainability projects would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
