Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer enquiries, analysing their needs, recommending suitable products, and maintaining communication with the supply chain. You will receive and manage enquiries directly from customers and external sales teams, utilising your excellent communication skills to understand and analyse customers' needs. Based on your analysis, you will recommend suitable products from the client's range, ensuring that you explain technical decisions and proposals clearly via email, phone, Teams calls, and occasional site visits.
In addition to customer interactions, you will maintain communications with the supply chain and third-party suppliers, ensuring that all parties are kept informed and that any issues are resolved promptly. Proficiency in using sales management software programs and related tools will be essential in this role, as you will need to keep accurate records and manage your workload efficiently.
Skills Required:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience or knowledge in mechanical engineering, as this will be crucial in understanding the technical aspects of the products and the needs of the customers. You should have a proactive attitude and an aptitude for learning and growth, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Confidence in using the phone and previous technical knowledge will also be important, as you will be required to explain complex technical information to customers and suppliers.
Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office/365, are necessary, as you will be using these tools to manage your work and communicate with colleagues and customers. Good time management skills and a proactive approach to your work will help you to manage your workload effectively and ensure that you meet deadlines. A UK driving licence is required for this role, as you may need to visit customers or suppliers on occasion. Additionally, very good literacy and numeracy skills are essential for understanding technical documents and managing your work.
