Workshop Engineer required. Our client is one of the largest specialist fleet hire and management companies in the UK. They are now looking for a Workshop Engineer in their Wilshire depot due to the growth of the business.

Successful candidates will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of a wide variety of vehicles including refuse vehicles, skip-loaders, tippers, trucks and roll on roll off. Candidates will improve efficiency of the business by reducing the amount of time vehicles are off the road by providing an exemplary service. Specialist training will be provided, where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets.



Workshop Service Engineer Position Overview

  • Servicing and repairing HGV's from manufacturers such as Isuzu, Mercedes, Iveco, Man, Renault and DAF
  • Provided excellent customer service
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections on HGVs to identify any faults or defects.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and perform repairs as necessary.
  • Carry out servicing and preventative maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Provide assistance and support to other members of the workshop team as required.


Workshop Service Engineer Position Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience as an HGV technician, Workshop Engineer or similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry.
  • HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent.
  • Class 2 licence preferred.
  • Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry desirable
  • Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices


Workshop Service Engineer Position Remuneration

  • Salary: £42,690 (OTE £45k - £50k+)
  • Working hours: 6am- 3:30pm Monday - Friday one week, 12:30-10pm the next week (Late shift every other week)
  • Holiday Package: 25 days + 8BH
  • £100 retainer for late shift (£20 a night allowance).
  • Overtime available
  • Discretionary bonus up to £3,000
