A thriving Secondary Academy in the heart of Wiltshire look to employ a full time, permanent Cover Supervisor to join them as soon as possible.
This role would suit anyone coming from a background of working with children, such as a Cover Supervisor, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or Youth Work background.
You will ultimately be responsible for supervising the work of secondary aged students, whilst they complete work already set by their class/subject teacher.
In addition, you will be responsible for:
- Receiving and registering students upon arrival.
- Distributing, explaining and monitoring the work set by the absent teacher.
- Providing support for students in their learning.
- Liaising with the appropriate Curriculum Leader/Heads of Key Stage/Teacher regarding the work to be set and, at the end of the lesson return the work completed.
- Setting up and ensuring an environment in which students are able to learn.
You will need to be able to develop a good standard of practical knowledge regarding the learning support needs of students and ways of meeting these, as well as good skills in dealing with potentially challenging behaviour and confidence in the classroom.
Full induction, support and training will be provided.
This is an exciting opportunity to positively impact the lives of young people, within and beyond the classroom.
