Full-Time Maths Intervention Teacher – Wiltshire Secondary School
Start Date: ASAP – Contract Until July 2025
Pay: £150 - £230 per day (depending on experience)
Are you a dedicated and experienced Maths teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to support students in achieving their GCSE potential? We are seeking a Maths Intervention Teacher to join a secondary school close to Lavington, Wiltshire on a full-time contract starting as soon as possible and running until July 2025. This role will focus on providing targeted GCSE intervention support to students in smaller groups, helping them improve their mathematical skills and confidence ahead of their exams.
About the Role:
As a Maths Intervention Teacher, you will work with small groups of students who require additional support in their GCSE Maths preparation. You will plan and deliver tailored interventions, using a variety of strategies to help students overcome specific challenges, improve their understanding, and achieve their best possible results. You will be integral in building students’ confidence in Maths, providing focused, one-on-one attention and creating an engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored intervention sessions for small groups of students, focusing on GCSE Maths topics.
- Identify students' areas of weakness and create personalized learning plans to address these gaps.
- Provide regular feedback and monitor students’ progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Work closely with classroom teachers to ensure that interventions align with the wider curriculum and exam requirements.
- Foster a supportive and motivating learning environment, encouraging students to reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with other staff to track and report on student progress.

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching Maths, ideally in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum and exam requirements.
- Ability to plan and deliver effective intervention lessons for small groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for supporting students’ learning and success.
- A patient and empathetic approach to working with students who need additional support.
