This role is pivotal to the effective management of various R&D projects within the Submarine Systems business unit.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting project teams to manage activities, performance, and reporting for a range of R&D projects within the Technology Management portfolio
  • Providing advice to project technical leads and team members on the development of R&D proposals, and subsequent mobilisation and delivery of those projects
  • Ensuring R&D projects are managed correctly, reporting progress at key stage gate reviews, and keeping all stakeholders informed
  • Coordinating monthly financial and progress reviews and reporting for a range of R&D projects within the Technology Management portfolio
  • Maintaining a watch on maturing and emerging technologies that may be of interest to the business, including regular contact with partner universities
  • Supporting updates to our Technology Strategy, highlighting those technologies and capabilities that are important to our business
  • Encouraging and supporting the submission of ideas for new R&D projects


Job Requirements:

  • STEM-related degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in managing engineering projects involving the introduction of new technologies
  • Experience within large or complex engineering projects
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering / systems
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills
  • Expertise in Systems Architecture, Systems Design, Systems Engineering, and Systems Assurance
