This role involves providing technical oversight for both a battery-backed Power Supply supplier and an internal Combat System team through the preliminary design phases in Q1 and Q2 of 2025. Additionally, it includes managing the technical aspects of an Equipment Rack supplier alongside the Combat System team. Both systems are essential for supporting safety-critical systems, making them integral to the successful delivery of the broader Dreadnought programme.
The wider team is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of multiple safety-related systems for the Dreadnought SSBN programme. This includes managing subcontractors who provide sonar, situational awareness, display, and power supply systems critical to platform operations. Relocation support packages are available across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering team, overseeing project progress and supplier management
- Develop System Design and Interface Control Documentation
- Define cabling and interface requirements
- Review supplier designs and attend Supplier Design Reviews
- Report in project forums and present at Design and Progress Reviews
- Contribute Electrical SQEP expertise in Working Groups
Job Requirements:
- Degree in an engineering-related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience in systems architecture.
- Knowledge of naval combat systems technologies, experience of 48v DC power supply systems a particular advantage.
- Proficient in Requirements Management.
- Skilled in systems engineering tools like DOORS and Enterprise Architect.
