Our client is a leading provider of electric vehicle charging points on a commercial scale to businesses around the UK. They are currently recruiting for an experienced SMSTS Civils Manager to join their team on a freelance basis.

The role will require someone with a heavy civils background including highways and who has experience of overseeing around to 5-6 sites that each have their own site team including site manager on site to run the day to day.

The role will be based roughly 3-4 days in the office and 1-3 days out on site where necessary.

Other duties will include;

  • Coordinating subcontractors and suppliers to ensure sites are progressing at pace.
  • Monitor project progress and preparing reports
  • Conduct site inspections to assess work quality and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Resolve any issues that may arise during the construction process promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to project activities, including daily logs and incident reports.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the civil engineering or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools is advantageous.

This is a freelance role but has opportunity for a permanent placement if successful.
