Gas Engineer
Camberley
£47,000 plus car

We are currently seeking a Gas Engineer to join our Facilities clients. The role will be based in Camberley and comes with a salary up to £47,000 plus car

Responsibilities for Gas Engineer

  • Gas System Management: Act as the Gas Responsible Person for all on-site gas systems, ensuring compliance with MOD safety regulations and relevant industry standards.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of gas systems, including distribution networks, plant rooms, and appliances.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Team Management: Manage and monitor contractors and in-house teams performing gas-related tasks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and technical standards.
  • Record Keeping: Develop and maintain detailed records, including gas safety certificates, inspection reports, and maintenance schedules.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO)
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and training to staff and contractors to promote a strong safety culture.
Qualifications for Gas Engineer
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Gas Engineering or equivalent. Current Gas Safe registration is essential.
  • Experience: Proven experience managing gas systems in high-security or complex environments, ideally within the Defence or public sector.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of gas safety regulations, MOD Defence Standards, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills with a proactive approach to risk management.
