Key Responsibilities:

Generate Supplier Order Books:

  • Create and maintain supplier order books to ensure timely procurement of materials.
  • Coordinate with procurement team to align orders with production schedules and inventory requirements.
  • Utilise MRP systems to manage and track orders accurately.

Communicate Directly with Suppliers:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers to expedite purchase orders.
  • Proactively communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues or delays in deliveries.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Work Closely with the Procurement Team:

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and implement purchasing strategies.
  • Assist in supplier selection and evaluation processes.
  • Provide support for sourcing activities and vendor management initiatives.

Process Purchase Orders:

  • Review purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders accurately.
  • Verify pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate with accounts payable to resolve any discrepancies in invoicing.

Participation in Improvement Activities:

  • Actively participate in improvement projects within the purchasing team.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost savings.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Experience of Syspro 7+is desirable.
  • CIPS Qualification Level 2+ would be advantageous.
