Job Title: Expeditor / Assistant Buyer

Key Responsibilities:
Generate Supplier Order Books:
- Create and maintain supplier order books to ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Coordinate with procurement team to align orders with production schedules and inventory requirements.
- Utilise MRP systems to manage and track orders accurately.
Communicate Directly with Suppliers:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers to expedite purchase orders.
- Proactively communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues or delays in deliveries.
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Work Closely with the Procurement Team:
- Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and implement purchasing strategies.
- Assist in supplier selection and evaluation processes.
- Provide support for sourcing activities and vendor management initiatives.
Process Purchase Orders:
- Review purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders accurately.
- Verify pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with accounts payable to resolve any discrepancies in invoicing.
Participation in Improvement Activities:
- Actively participate in improvement projects within the purchasing team.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost savings.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Experience of Syspro 7+is desirable.
- CIPS Qualification Level 2+ would be advantageous.
