Financial Controller - Camborne - £40-50,000
Trial Balance are delighted to have been exclusively engaged to source an experienced Financial Controller to join a prominent and highly regarded Cornish manufacturing business. The role has come-around through a company restructure and represents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to take a step up (with good potential for future progression). The role is offered as a full time, permanent contract to be based at the company’s headquarters in Camborne.
This is a pivotal role within the company and one where the successful candidate will work closely with directors, assuming large scale responsibility for the operational accounting function. Reporting to an experienced Finance Director and liaising closely with the board of directors, and multiple external stakeholders, the successful candidate will also assume frontline support of an experienced, medium sized accounting team. Key features of the role to include:
- Lead responsibility for all accounting protocols and maintaining robust internal controls
- Management of a small but experienced team finance team
- Work with FD to produce high quality budget packs
- Ensure compliance to all relevant reporting standards
- Identify and implement improvements to the function and digital accounting systems
- Act as a key point of contact to external stakeholders and major suppliers
- Production and delivery of detailed management accounts
- Ensure efficient supplier payment processes
- Oversee a monthly payroll
- Assist with annual audits
- Lead and develop your own team to ensure CPD goals are achieved
Think you’ve got what it takes? We’re looking for an exceptionally well trained and experienced FC that possesses A1 technical experience as well sound commercial judgement. You’ll be taking a lead role in ensuring the efficient financial controls across multiple entities and with multiple income streams. We’re seeking a candidate who feels as comfortable with management reporting as they do statutory accounting, leading audits, budgeting, forecasting and benchmarking. A professionally qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), and/or with significant vocational experience, you’ll need a solid background in the preparation of financial and management reports, up to date knowledge of accounting standards and budgetary controls. You’ll be a natural leader with past experience in managing your own team, developing their skills and mentoring their progress. Your skills in identifying potential improvements and leading finance projects will be demonstrable and your experience of using technology in previous roles will be obvious. Most importantly, you’ll possess the ability to recognise the values and cultures of a growing business and hit the ground running within a friendly and likeminded team environment.
