This role is offered on a 6 month fixed term basis.(Salary pro rata)
As a support surveyor role. You will be the go-to person for keeping investment and maintenance projects on track, from start to finish. Sitting across multiple teams, you will step in where needed, making sure things don’t grind to a halt.
You will also be the technical brain behind the scenes—advising on new developments, troubleshooting maintenance issues, and ensuring standards aren’t just met but exceeded.
What You’ll Be Doing
Taking the lead on big-money maintenance contracts (£5m/year) and figuring out if some of the work should be brought in-house.
Walking sites, post-inspecting work.
Making sure technical compliance is watertight, whether it’s CDM, fire regs, or HHSRS.
Keeping an eye on costs without killing quality.
Working with contractors, consultants, and in-house teams to make sure projects run smoothly.
Managing specialist consultants (fire safety, engineering, etc.)
Staying on top of regulatory changes and making sure the rest of the team keeps up too.
What You Need to Bring
Project management skills—you’ll need to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball.
Confidence to challenge contractors, suppliers, and colleagues when needed.
The ability to think critically, problem-solve, and spot risks before they become disasters.
A relevant degree (or enough experience to make up for it).
Professional qualifications like RICS or MCIOB.
A CSCS card suitable for the role.
