Housing Referral Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Temporary Referral Coordinator to join our Supported Housing team. As the first point of contact for referrals to our support service, you will play a crucial role in assessing and managing referrals, ensuring that individuals receive the support they need. This position requires flexibility, creativity, and a person-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities of the Housing Referral Coordinator:

  • Handle all new referrals via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions, ensuring a welcoming and supportive experience.
  • Collect relevant information, assess referrals against service criteria, and manage the allocation of accepted referrals in collaboration with Support Workers.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, colleagues, and partner agencies to manage expectations and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Accurately collect, collate, and prepare reports on referral data to support service delivery and improvement.

The successful Housing Referral Coordinator will have:

  • Knowledge and experience of the supported housing sector and support needs are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport and show empathy.
  • Working understanding of domestic abuse is preferable, as is experience with supporting people with complex needs such as substance and alcohol use, mental health support needs, and experiences of homelessness.
