Location: Coastal South West Region
Rate: 36 per hour (Ltd.)

This is an ideal role for a Principal Social Worker seeking not only to develop their career but also to contribute directly to the well-being and safety of children in our community.

Our client's services are designed to allow you to focus on frontline work while ensuring manageable caseloads. You will have the opportunity to conduct Child in Need (CIN), child protection, and child in care visits, working hands-on with families to assess and strengthen their capacity to provide a safe environment for their children. With the responsibility of chairing meetings, such as CIN, Core groups, and Placement planning, you will also have the chance to support the management team in s.47 strategy discussions, building on your leadership abilities and gaining valuable experience in high-level case management.

This continuous professional development ensures that you are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to confidently handle s.47 enquiries, conduct thorough child protection investigations, and draft detailed, insightful reports.

Requirements:

  • Recognised social work qualification.
  • Extensive experience in frontline statutory children and family services.
  • Capacity to handle a variety of cases, cover duty calls, and engage in direct work with children (ages 0-18).
  • Own vehicle and flexibility for travel across the region.

Contract: Initial 12 weeks with the possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
