This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the most supportive Finance Managers in Cambridge (in my opinion). I have known my client for many years and she likes developing and mentoring bright people, who have the ability to challenge and learn quickly. If this sounds like you, then keep reading. She now has an 18 month opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting skills to join her team. She envisages that this person will either have come from an audit background and want a step into a commercial environment or already be in industry with strong commercial and technical skillsThe role has three key parts:
  • Accounting for the leases of 147 offices and dilapidations. This needs you to have knowledge of or to be able to learn about IFRS16. It will also involve understanding about how changes in the P+L impact on the balance sheet.
  • 20% of the role will be managing a team of three. This is a chance to manage for the first time if you've not done it before. The team are friendly and work well together and you need to be able to keep the momentum going.
  • 10% of the role will be around banking, direct debits and standing orders.
You also need the following:
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of an ERP system
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with other departments
