We are seeking a dedicated Credit Controller to join our Finance team. This role is crucial for maintaining the Credit Control Function and ensuring the efficient management of sales ledgers. The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager and will receive support and guidance to effectively monitor and maintain debt collectability.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Monitor and maintain the collectability of debts in the Sales Ledgers.
  • Chase overdue debts and liaise with Case Managers to ensure timely collections.
  • Prepare and attend quarterly debtors review meetings.
  • Manage bad debt write-offs in compliance with Financial Policy, including preparing and maintaining bad debt and provision for bad debt reports.
  • Report to management on bad debts written off and the status of outstanding debts.
  • Check bank statements and post medical receipts into Sage Sales Ledger accounts.
  • Cover for invoicing of private practice transactions during absences.
  • Provide data and information for the year-end audit.
  • Offer ad hoc assistance to the Finance Team during busy periods such as quarter-end and year-end.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in running a credit control function with a systematic approach to resolving day-to-day issues.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating patience in dealing with both external and internal customers.
  • High level of initiative and a willingness to assist other members of the Finance team during busy periods.
  • Good problem-solving skills, using initiative to resolve problems and queries effectively.
  • IT literate with proficient MS Excel skills and experience with MS Word and other accounting software, preferably including Sage 200 Financials.
