We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee the company's financial operations. This individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring that the company's financial strategies align with its business goals.

Description

  • Lead the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting, providing insights and recommendations to leadership on financial performance.
  • Support the fundraising and investor relations process, ensuring all financial records and reports are prepared and delivered on time.
  • Develop and implement financial controls, processes, and systems to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain and monitor tax filings, financial audits, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis to support decision-making by senior management, identifying areas for cost control and revenue growth.
  • Work alongside the CFO to drive financial strategy and business planning.

Profile

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial management role, ideally within a fast-paced or start-up environment, preferably in biotech, pharma, or a related sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
  • High proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, investor reporting, and managing financial compliance is highly desirable.
