Permanent vacancy – Management Accountant
Location: Cambridge, CB5 (on-site working)
Duration: 6 months
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
You'll play a crucial role in delivering all aspects of management accounting. This includes cost management, cost accounting & control, cash flow management, variance analysis, and budgeting & forecasting.
Responsibilities:
- Management Accounting: Collaborate closely with departments, Heads of Departments and SLT to develop a deep understanding of operations. Provide real-time financial support and analysis, delivering information in a clear and user-friendly manner to assist with decision-making.
- Reporting: Deliver monthly income and expenditure reports with summary narratives, highlighting areas of concern. Review month-end work, including balance sheet reconciliations, cost centre reports, funds, donations accounting, and major project reporting.
- Cash Management: Oversee cash management, cash flow reporting, and credit control, recommending appropriate actions as required.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budget process, ensuring income, cost management, and operating cash flow management support the overall strategic framework. Conduct monthly reviews of variances and recommend appropriate actions.
- Team Management: Manage and develop finance team members, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and motivation to deliver excellent service to the College community.
Person Specification:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience in financial cost management and analysis.
- Advanced analytical skills, including Advanced Excel skills.
