My client is a Top 40 firm of Chartered Accountants. As a leading firm of Chartered Accountants, they look after the accountancy, tax planning and business advisory needs of their clients (individuals, businesses and third sector organisations both in the UK and overseas).

They are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Tax Assistant/Trainee to join their dynamic tax team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual starting their career in tax to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in a supportive and professional environment. Working alongside experienced tax professionals, you will assist in delivering tax compliance and advisory services to a varied portfolio of clients across different industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the preparation of tax computations and returns for a variety of clients.• Supporting the team in gathering and analysing financial data for tax purposes.• Communicating with clients to request information and provide updates on work progress.• Ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations and deadlines.• Keeping up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and helping apply them to client scenarios.• Participating in internal training sessions to build technical knowledge and develop expertise.

Requirements:

• A genuine interest in tax and a strong willingness to learn.• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and colleagues.• A proactive and organised approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.• Good problem-solving skills and a desire to understand the "why" behind the numbers.• IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.• A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
