Assistant Accountant

Cambridge city centre (hybrid)

We are working with a Cambridge based global technology company who are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their existing finance team, on a permanent basis. This role operates in a complex compliance environment and covers all aspects of finance administration, processing, and reporting. The successful candidate will be part of a rotational team, ensuring experience in all areas of processing within Finance.

Day-to-day tasks:
  • Management, processing, and payment of employee expense claims, supplier invoices, and partner cost claims.
  • Management and processing of sales invoices and performing bank reconciliations.
  • Ensuring correct VAT treatment for both supplier and sales invoices across multiple VAT jurisdictions.
  • Dealing with employee, supplier, and customer queries as required.
  • Management and processing of the fixed asset register.
  • Identifying and calculating accrued expenses, prepayments, accrued income, and deferred income.
  • Providing support with month-end closure and statutory audit.
  • Reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts and assisting with year-end audit.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong MS-Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and written.
  • Experience within a multi-currency environment is desirable.
  • Acute attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills, including planning and delivery to challenging deadlines.
  • Proactive self-starter with the eagerness to learn and take ownership of projects and processes.
