Due to recent and on-going expansion, our client based northwest of Cambridge is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Finance Assistant to support the CFO and Management Accountant in the smooth running of a busy department.
As a Finance Assistant you will be focusing primarily on transactional finance tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and bank reconciliations. Â However, this role would be ideal for someone who is keen to expand their skillset and become more involved in more technical aspects of finance, such as analytical reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:
- Manage the Accounts Payable process. Processing invoices, preparation of payment runs.
- Credit control: assisting with maintaining cash compilation, allocation and reconciliation.
- Daily bank account and credit card reconciliation.
- Analytical reporting on a developing suite of financial and non-financial information
- Assist with the preparation of the Group Annual Report
- Assistance with any other ad hoc duties appropriate to the role
Requirements for the Finance Assistant:
- Previous accountancy / finance experience working within a small team
- Part-qualified UK Financial Accounting Qualification
- Confident IT skills, particularly with a solid understanding of MS Excel
- Keen to develop, progress and learn new skills
