Our client is a growing business in an exciting space and they are currently recruiting for someone to join them on a part-time basis as an Assistant Accountant.Reporting to the Financial Controller, the hours are 24 per week (worked across at least 4 days) and will suit someone who is studying towards their AAT qualification or already fully qualified. Duties will include
- Accounts payable and receivable processing
- Expenses management, ensuring authorisations are obtained
- Credit control
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Credit card reconciliations
- Assisting with preparation of VAT returns
- Working closely with external accountants on monthly payroll submission
- Handling and resolving queries as appropriate
- Assisting with trial balance accounts
Whilst this is a fully remote role, the successful candidate must live within a 25 mile radius of Cambridge to enable regular catch ups with the team in person. As well as being AAT qualified - or close to it - the successful candidate will have a solid grounding in accounting and will ideally understand the principles of double-entry bookkeeping. Experience of Xero would be a distinct advantage but a strong working knowledge of Excel is essential.
