Join Global 50/50 as a Trustee
Are you Board level individual with a drive for gender equality? Global 50/50, a global leader in evidence-driven gender justice, is seeking additional Trustees for their Board.
Since 2017, Global Health 50/50 has been a trusted, evidence-driven authority and research initiative driving accountability for gender equality in the global health sector. Our work has helped to catalyse change across the policies, practices, and leadership within our sample of 200 organisations working in global health, and beyond – establishing a global benchmark for progress and transparency for equality.
The forces driving gender inequality don’t stop at the borders of health. That’s why Global Health 50/50 has evolved into Global 50/50 allowing us to take our proven model into new sectors, while staying grounded in the evidence-informed, change-focused work we’re known for. With a broader mandate and a growing team, we maintain an unwavering commitment to driving gender justice across the systems that shape our lives.
Global 50/50 has a bold new vision: to expose and address gender inequality across global systems in three powerful pillars:Â
- Global Health 50/50: Continuing to lead on gender and health equity.Â
- Global Justice 50/50: Launching mid-2025, with an interim report on the judiciary and a full Global Gender & Justice Report in the autumn.Â
- Global Finance 50/50: Launching in 2026, with a focus on gender accountability across financial systems.
Each initiative builds on GH5050’s proven methodology: rigorous, transparent research that not only highlights disparities but activates data for accountability and drives reform.Â
If you're ready to apply your knowledge and expertise to create lasting change, apply now to support a passionate, high-impact team.Â
We are committed to equity, justice, diversity and inclusion across our organisation. This includes taking measures to support your application and your ability to participate in board meetings, including but not limited to:Â
- Travel costs reimbursed

Role Description
An opportunity to contribute your expertise to a high-impact global initiative driving gender equality.
About Global 50/50
Established in 2017, Global Health 50/50 is a non-profit organisation (a UK registered Charity) headquartered in Cambridge, UK, that initially focussed on the health sector and is increasingly active in other sectors, globally and at country level. As such, we have just rebranded as Global 50/50.
Global Health 50/50 was formed around a unique model which brings together the rigour of academic research, the knowledge of how policy change can occur and the momentum of advocates and communicators to catalyse progress on gender equality.
Global Health 50/50 was established as an independent research initiative to inform, inspire and incite action and accountability for gender equality and health equity.
We fulfil our mission by:Â
- Informing global discourse with the world’s most rigorous and extensive index on the state of gender equality in global organisations active in health and health policy
- Inspiring a vision of a new normal for gender equality in global health
- Inciting a movement to demand and deliver the policies that will lead to gender equality in the workplace and in global health programmes
Through our flagship annual report and Gender and Health Index, Global 50/50 provides the only bird’s-eye view of gender, inclusion and equality in the global health sector today. The report assesses 200 organisations across a core set of variables on policies and practices to tackle power and privilege imbalances within the workplace, the gender and geography of organisational leadership, and whether gender is considered in any organisations' external-facing programmatic or policy work.Â
Based on an approach honed over seven years, Global 50/50 is planning to produce rigorous data on the state of gender equality within the justice sector and the financial sector where we will review approximately 200 organisations in each of these sectors at the global level. We will subsequently apply a similar approach and methodology in these sectors at the country level. Working with research and advocacy partners, supported by an advisory group, experts and a team of research consultants, Global 50/50 plans to leverage the data to engage with the assessed organisations directly. The work undertaken by Global 50/50 in the justice and financial sectors is part of a wider advocacy coalition supported by our funders aiming to drive organisational change for more diverse, inclusive and equitable global justice and financial sectors.
More information about Global 50/50 can be found on our website: https://globalhealth5050.org/ where you will also find our reports.
