Job Description:

This is a key role supporting the Cost and Estimating team in identifying, costing and agreeing additional / emergent tasks during aircraft inputs. Based at Marshall Aerospaces' facility in Cambridge (postcode is CB5 8RX) This role enables our client to deliver fully scheduled, costed and value assessed estimates to the business. Applicants MUST have prior aircraft maintenance experience to be considered.

*HYBRID ROLE: 2-3 days will be on site at Marshalls facility in Cambridge, the rest can be remote working*

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery to the Customer Additional / Emergent Work claims for their Hercules C-130 aircraft undergoing Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities and their subsequent Commercial Approval of work commencement to keep Inputs on schedule
  • Delivery of a forecasted Cost Base for any given task of work
  • Ensure all estimates are fully backed off with a thorough Basis of Estimate (BoE) to deliver confidence and understanding of Cost and Value to the wider business stakeholders
  • Support key stakeholders with business, performance and financial data reconciliation
  • Consistent reporting on the Value of Additional / Emergent Work to the business. Advise the MRO of the targets and budgets for each Input
  • Communicate and manage relationships with key stakeholders within the business

Skills/Experience:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Prior Aerospace/aviation environment experience
  • Broad knowledge and experience of aircraft maintenance and modifications (for example someone who would understand step by step what is required in changing an aircraft wheel)
  • Previous aircraft structural experience
  • Proficient user of MS Excel

DESIRABLE:

  • Working knowledge of the Business Cost Forecasting Tools and Templates used to generate Additional / Emergent Work Claims, Cost Base generation and Risk Analysis
  • Prior Working Experience of the C-130 Hercules aircraft would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience of managing a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of contractual obligations for our Projects and Customers
  • Demonstrated record of communicating at all levels within the business and direct Customer facing
  • Ability to adapt communication based on the recipients.
  • Membership of the Association of Cost Engineers (ACostE) or equivalent professional recognised level of competence or experience would be advantageous
  • Any prior knowledge on International Finance System, navigation of home screens to identify the required data

This role requires a close working relationship with the MRO at Marshall and functional leads. This role as a minimum requires a hybrid working approach to ensure visibility within the MRO environment
