Senior Urban Designer Job in Manchester, Greater Manchester

Our client is an award-winning multidiscipline consultancy with a Senior Urban designer job available in its Manchester office. This role would offer an attractive package, 25 days of holidays, 3 days of Christmas Closure covered plus bank holidays (36 days total), and a bonus scheme. Over the next 3 years, they have devised ambitious growth plans which you could be a part of to facilitate their strong pipeline of work therefore are now looking for Urban Designers of all levels.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop masterplans for projects of varying sizes, from concept through outline and reserved matters planning applications

  • Working on large-scale masterplan residential projects and other complex projects across various sectors

  • Create strategic documents, such as vision statements and design codes, to guide and protect project development

  • Collaborate with the Urbanism team and manage small teams, while also working independently.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications: Degree, Masters, or Diploma in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field within the Built Environment

  • Prior experience in private practice, consultancy, or commercial housebuilding; detailed design/RMA experience preferred

  • Proficiency in CAD software; knowledge of Vectorworks and/or SketchUp is a plus

  • Familiarity with local authority guidelines and planning systems

  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
