Assistant Ecologist

Cambridge

We are looking for an Assistant Ecologist to join a small-medium sized company based in Cambridge! This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career assistant ecologist to gain hands-on experience in all aspects including fieldwork, ecological surveys, and habitat assessments while working alongside experienced professionals.

The company work on a range of public and private projects across the South West in sectors including residential, commercial, education and conservation. The company offer a hybrid working set up and have an excellent benefits package including 25 days holiday, bonus scheme, cycle to work scheme, social days out throughout the year and an unlimited training budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with ecological surveys, including protected species and habitat assessments
  • Support data collection, analysis, and report writing
  • Help deliver mitigation and conservation strategies
  • Work collaboratively with ecologists and other environmental specialists


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
  • Some experience in field surveys and species identification (professional or voluntary)
  • A good understanding of UK wildlife legislation and ecological best practices
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to develop new skills
