Facilities Manager - Site Operations (Biotech/Pharma)

We are looking for a Facilities Manager who thrives in biotech environments, understands the complexities of lab operations, and wants to build something exceptional - not just maintain the status quo.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Overseeing lab & office spaces - Managing building systems, lab infrastructure, and equipment servicing (including CL II hoods, centrifuges, incubators, pipette clinic etc).
  • Ensuring compliance & safety as well as working collaboratively with the H & S Manager to conduct audits & inspections.
  • Leading a team - Managing a team of Facilities Assistant &Lab Support Technicians, ensuring things like lab consumables & equipment servicing, run smoothly.
  • Managing vendors & budgets - Securing cost-effective contracts and high service levels.
  • Driving sustainability - Implementing energy-saving initiatives and environmental improvements.
  • Planning refurbishments & fit-outs - Hands-on involvement in lab/office builds and upgrades.

What We Need From You:

  • Facilities management experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences, with lab support expertise covering Hard & Soft Services.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of building systems, lab equipment servicing, and compliance (H&S, CD, GMO, HTA licenses).
  • Strong leadership skills, able to motivate teams and drive improvements.
  • Experience with refurbishments, lab/office fit-outs, and optimising workspaces.
  • Practiced in vendor management, budgeting & contract negotiation
