We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef de Partie to join a busy Cambridge College. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food production and preparation, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will play a vital role in the kitchen, working alongside other team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Assist in the management of kitchen operations, including inventory control and stock rotation.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
- Help develop new menu items and contribute to creative culinary ideas.
- Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service, making adjustments as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to lead and supervise others when required.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
