We are recruiting for a Research Technician for one of our client from oil and gas industry. It's a permanent role based in Cambridge.

Job Overview:

As a Research Technician, you will be part of a small support group inside the company that will help with the manufacturing and modification of current experimental equipment on the site.

  • Manufacture test equipment and apparatus to meet project timelines.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by incorporating safe procedures into all elements of the job.
  • Advise on engineering and design, including materials and production processes, in collaboration with other technical and scientific staff.
  • Conduct troubleshooting to diagnose design issues and recommend remedies.
  • Use standard PC software.
  • Promote teamwork and contribute to group activities.

Qualification / Experience:

  • Experience of hands-on mechanical engineering. Electrical experience and skills would also be desirable.
  • Provide technical advice to program managers and scientific staff.
  • Create working engineering drawings using CAD.
  • Manufacture components as required for use on site using all the workshop facilities.
  • Learn and support operations in areas within the main test facility.
