Do you want to be a part of one of the most exciting research and development programmes in the UK, helping to devise new materials for use in renewable energy, sustainability and energy storage ? We have an opportunity for a Senior Scientist / Principal Scientist to join our team based in Cambridgeshire ; the remit for this role will be to utilise molecular modelling techniques to identify root causes of issues and to recommend corrective action.

Requirements:

  • You MUST have experience of molecular dynamics and of molecular modelling techniques
  • A Degree level qualification is essential
  • A PhD in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Computational Chemistry or similar is very much preferred, and published in top ranked journals
  • Knowledge of polymer membrane synthesis
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential

Knowledge and / or experience of as many of the following as possible:

  • molecular dynamics simulations (MD)
  • density functional theory (DFT)
  • Monte Carlo simulations
  • coarse-grained simulations
  • mesoscale simulations
  • Lattice Boltzmann method
  • finite element analysis
  • phase field simulations
