CK Group are recruiting for a QC Chemist, to join a chemical manufacturing company, at their site based in Cambridgeshire, on an 18 month fixed term contract, with possibility of becoming permanent.


Shifts:

40 hours per week, weekly rotation (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, Monday to Friday).


Salary:

35,600 - 39,600 per annum, including shift premium.


The Company:

Our client is a leading chemical adhesive and composite materials manufacturer.


Location:


This role is located at our client's site just outside of Cambridge.


Your main duties will be:
  • Develop and validate new test methods, writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support Process Development with non-routine test requirements for new product introductions (NPI).
  • Lead test method improvement projects and update key test SOPs.
  • Maintain stock levels of lab consumables and chemicals.
  • Support in-process and final product testing according to designated methods and procedures.
  • Manage the calibration and maintenance of laboratory testing equipment.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations into quality events and non-conformance issues.
  • Provide expert advice to the manufacturing plant for in-process failures.
  • Lead quality inspections, confirmations, and audits of the production plant.

Your Background:

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Degree in Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in a laboratory environment with Chemical Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes and wet chemistry testing.
  • Experience with adhesive or composite systems (advantageous).
  • IT proficiency, including experience with LIMS, SAP, and OEM software.
