Leading rail engineering organisation seeks two Lead / Senior Quantity Surveyors with experience of working on rail systems projects (signalling, Comms, M&E, E&P etc) projects for an 18 month contract based near Cambridge.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to engage in a critical infrastructure project, operating on an outside IR35 basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing commercial support to assist the project team with various commercial matters
- Managing subcontractor agreements and overseeing change management processes
- Supporting the Programme Commercial Manager with day-to-day commercial operations
- Maintain accurate cost reporting and utilise finance systems effectively
- Sourcing evidence to prepare and substantiate change submissions to Network Rail
- Ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Analysing and reporting on project financial performance
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in quantity surveying, particularly within the rail main contractor environment
- Experience of delivering rail systems (signalling, comms, M&E, E&P etc) projects
- Strong understanding of commercial management principles and practices
- Proficiency in subcontractor management and change management processes
- Excellent IT skills, including experience with cost reporting and finance systems
- Ability to source and prepare evidence for change submissions
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work onsite four days a week in Cambridge
