EstimatorCambridge£75,000We are currently seeking an Estimator to join our Highway Engineering clients. The role will be based in Cambridge with national coverage and comes with a salary of £75,000.Responsibilities for Estimator
  • Prepare tenders and quotations from specifications and drawings within defined time periods.
  • Make site assessments and evaluate any risks and potential problems
  • Complete all documents and financial information.
  • Preparation of Tenders and Quotations from DNO Point of Connection offers within defined time periods.
  • Produce handover documentation on accepted work.
  • Attend meetings and explain project scope, estimate, clarifications, and assumptions.
  • Report on and review all projects with the BUD.
  • Document review.
  • Attend and lead contract meetings with clients and contractors.
Requirements for Estimator
  • Strong understanding of DNO/ICP
  • Proven engineering expertise in delivering technical solutions and costings for electrical and civil projects up to 132kV, on private or regulated DNO networks.
  • Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player with strong financial and organisational skills.
  • Confident and effective presenter to senior managers and directors.
  • General knowledge of Health & Safety and its practical applications.
  • Reporting and Documentation Skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of contracts used in the building and civil engineering sectors.
  • Familiarity with forms of measurement, including SMM7 and CESMM3.
  • Background in Electrical/Power Engineering.
  • Degree-qualified in a relevant field.
