Responsibilities
- Conduct Audits: Lead audits on Overhead Lines and Underground Cables, ensuring adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Inspection Planning: Develop and implement inspection and audit schedules for OHL and UG cable systems, ensuring all work is completed on time and meets quality standards.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed audit reports, documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions. Track and report on progress, ensuring timely closure of non-conformities.
- Compliance Assurance: Verify that all installations, repairs, and maintenance work on OHL and UG cables comply with relevant National Electrical Code (NEC), IEC, and other industry-specific standards.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess risks in electrical installations and systems, recommending corrective actions to mitigate potential safety hazards or system failures.
- Collaboration: Work with project teams, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement in audit processes and compliance measures.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior auditors, ensuring they are well-equipped to carry out inspections and audits effectively.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with authorities, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders to ensure that audits are conducted in line with operational requirements and legislative frameworks.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to the ongoing development of audit protocols, methodologies, and best practices to improve the quality and safety of electrical installations.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in Electrical Auditing: Proven experience in auditing electrical systems, particularly Overhead Lines and Underground Cables, ensuring compliance with relevant safety and performance standards.
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards: Familiarity with NEC, IEC, OSHA, and other relevant safety and compliance standards.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to assess, analyze, and mitigate risks and non-conformities in electrical infrastructure systems.
- Audit Tools & Systems: Experience with audit tools and software for documenting findings, tracking compliance, and managing audits.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in liaising with regulatory bodies, internal teams, and external contractors to ensure compliance.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support a team of auditors and engineers.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in assessing the quality, safety, and compliance of electrical systems.
