Overview:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join a leading construction organisation to cover the Eastern region. As the Design Manager, you will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project and you will provide assistance and guidance to design coordinators where and when appropriate.

What will you do as the Design Manager?

  • Manage the design process using your commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise
  • Support, understand and advise the client as to the requirements and obligations in the development of a building design
  • Encourage and inspire design consultants to produce their best work
  • Ensure the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate
  • Ensure design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales
  • Strive to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction

Requirements for the role:

  • Oversee the design coordinators
  • Experience of site/contract procedures
  • Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads
  • Good working knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures
  • Design Manager experience with regional / national contractor
