Reed Further Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Trainer Assessor to join a college based in Cambridge. This role involves providing high quality coaching, mentoring, and training to learners, particularly focusing on carpentry and property maintenance apprenticeships. You will be instrumental in helping learners achieve their qualifications in a timely manner and preparing them for their End Point Assessment (EPA).

Position: Part-time, 22.5 hours

Role type: Permanent

Location: Cambridge, CB4

Salary: £28,763 to £33,430 per annum pro rata

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage a caseload of learners, providing regular progress reviews, feedback, and support.
  • Act as the main point of contact for both employers and learners, fostering positive relationships.
  • Plan and deliver training sessions both on employer premises and at the college.
  • Ensure compliance with college and awarding body standards in all training and assessment activities.
  • Support learners in developing their wider life skills and ensuring their well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all learners and employers.
  • Conduct regular learning reviews with apprentices and employers, setting and reviewing targets to ensure continuous progress.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 vocational qualification in carpentry, joinery, construction multi-skills or relevant to subject area.
  • Level 3 TAQA or equivalent qualification in assessing vocational qualifications.
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current driving licence and willingness to travel between college sites and employer locations.
  • Experience working within an apprenticeship delivery environment is desirable.
  • Good IT skills.
