A leading educational institution is seeking a Learning Manager to join their Service Industries, Care, and Early Years department. This role is pivotal in developing and growing apprenticeships and other workplace learning programs to meet employer and learner needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to increase employer engagement and business development to grow apprenticeship recruitment.
- Ensure an effective response to employer needs through various funding sources, including Apprenticeships and full-cost work.
- Promote apprenticeships through careers events and school visits.
- Plan and design all aspects of the work-based curriculum, ensuring workplace, qualification, and framework requirements are met.
- Manage resources effectively to deliver employer and qualification/framework requirements as per contract.
- Oversee Centre Coordination for awarding organisations and Lead Internal Verifier/Quality Assurer activities to ensure high-quality training provision.
- Support work placements for full-time learners.
- Promote the use of technology and e-learning in training delivery, assessment, and the review process.
- Act as a proactive line manager and role model for staff.
- Assist with interviewing and appointing staff, ensuring timely and comprehensive inductions.
- Manage staff performance effectively, conducting appraisals and probation reviews with measurable targets.
- Ensure staff have the required experience and qualifications, maintaining current CPD and occupational updating.
- Conduct regular quality checks and developmental observations for assessors and quality assurers.
- Achieve annual budget targets and apply resources appropriately.
- Contribute to the development of the Faculty Self-Assessment Report and Strategic Improvement Plan.
- Maintain compliance with all planning and quality processes and procedures.
- Produce comprehensive reports and action plans for the programme area.
- Ensure safe working practices and adherence to Health & Safety and Safeguarding legislation.
- Actively advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations within the community.
- A minimum of a level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant area.
- Teaching/Assessing experience in a relevant curriculum area.
- Knowledge of the New Apprenticeship Standards and End Point Assessment requirements.
- Experience in leading, managing, and motivating a large staff team.
- Strong planning, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to use and analyse management information systems.
- A current driving licence and the ability to travel independently for business purposes.
