Database Administrator - Peterborough - £45,000-£50,000

A growing retail business based in Peterborough are looking for a Database Administrator to join them as they looking to expand their data function.

You will be joining the business during a period of significant growth. They have invested heavily into their reporting team with the aim to fully automate reporting and provide stakeholders with valuable data they need. They have also created a new Snowflake data warehouse to store its data and this role is the next part of the companies long term data strategy growth plans.

In this position, you will take responsibility for the maintenance and developing of the data estate. You will conduct daily DBA tasks such as backups, restores and disaster recovery planning. You will work heavily with SQL to ensure that database are optimised and performing as required.

You will work as part of a close-knit, collaborative data team and together you will work to meet the overall data goals of the business. In this role you will be required to work in office 5 days per week, working closely with the data professionals around This is a full-time, permanent position paying up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience. There is also a company benefits package which includes generous holiday allowance, a contributory pensions scheme and training programs alongside other benefits.

To be successful in this role you will have.

  • Strong SQL skills for database querying, tuning and optimization
  • Experience with DBA tasks such as backups, restores, disaster recovery planning and database security
  • Experience with Snowflake would be beneficial
  • Experience completing ETL tasks would be beneficial
